This is a nice example of a cut lead crystal, probably British in origin and dating to between 1910 and 1920.
The pan shaped bowl has a notched rim and is cut around the centre with five pairs of criss-crosses, the outer limbs of which are elongated. At the point at which adjacent short limbs meet there is a three-pointed fan. The elongated limbs meet those of the adjacent crosses to form a kite-shaped panel. This is filled with a lattice of small criss-crosses. The base of the bowl is moulded with a vertical ribbed pattern. There is a discoid collar at the junction of the bowl and the baluster shaped stem. The foot is plain and unmarked.
It has a height of approximately 10.1cm, with a diameter at the rim of about 9.6cm and across the foot of about 6.5cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
