20th Century Cut Lead Crystal Preserve Pot

This is a good quality piece which has a manufacturers mark underneath but it is virtually impossible to make it out. The jar is cut in its lower part with a combination of wide needle cuts that alternate between short and long lengths. Below the shorter cuts are panels of relief diamonds formed by intersecting wedge cuts. The lid is radially wedge cut. The knop is octagonally cut with circular facets on each face. The top of the knop comes to a central point, with wedge cuts radiating out to the edge to form notches. The base is star cut. It has a height to the rim of approximately 10.2cm, and a maximum height to the top of the knop of about 14.8cm. It has a diameter of about 8.0cm. It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
