Queen Victoria ‘Sixty Years a Queen’ Hardback Commemorative Book (Green Cover) c.1897

This is a fascinating copy of the hardback book ‘Sixty Years a Queen’, published to commemorate Queen Victoria’s 60th year on the British throne in 1897.

The book was written by Sir Herbert Maxwell with black and white illustrations from the Royal Collection and published by Harmsworth Bros. Limited.

It is in good condition, considering its age. The first six pages, including a colour portrait of Queen Victoria, have considerable foxing, as does the rear blank page. The remainder of the book is clean. There is also some wear and a few marks to the cover, and some faint pencil markings on the first blank inner pages, although these are barely discernible. This wear is reflected in the price.
