Whitefriars Ruby Sparrow Beak Jug No. 9648

This is a nice example of a classic Whitefriars design.
The jug has an approximately cylindrical body in its lower half and a rounded shoulder that leads to a short neck. The pouring spout is elongated. The flint handle arises from a wide attachment at the shoulder, looping upwards above the rim and is attached opposite the pouring spout. The base has a central polished out pontil and bears the original paper label that reads ‘9648’.
This piece has the pattern number 9648 and appears on page 8 of the 1966 Whitefriars catalogue.
It has a height to the spout of about 12.5cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
