This is a nice example of a large Whitefriars trail bowl.
The bowl is rounded and stands on a thick, discoid foot which is plain, with a central polished out pontil. The exterior of the bowl is decorated with a continuous moulded spiral trail.
This design first featured on page 2 of the 1940 Whitefriars catalogue, with pattern number 8901.
It has a height of approximately 14.8cm, with a diameter at the rim of about 26.0cm and at the foot of about 11.7cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
