This is a classic piece of Whitefriars glass dating to the mid-20th century.
The vase is oval in shape with a thickened base. It is oval in cross-section and there is a central polished pontil on the underside. The whole is made from a pale blue glass known as ‘Arctic Blue’.
This piece has the pattern number 9490 and can be found on page 20 of the 1964 Whitefriars catalogue.
It has a maximum height of approximately 21.0cm, with a width across the rim of about 7.0cm by 5.8cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are a few wear and tear scratches to the body and base commensurate with use.
