Whitefriars Bubbled Paperweight No. 9308 in Flint
This is a good example of a Whitefriars controlled bubble paperweight.
This is a good example of a Whitefriars controlled bubble paperweight.
It has an enclosed controlled bubble pattern, with the bubbles diminishing in size from the base of the paperweight to the top. There is a large single bubble in the centre of the paperweight. The central part of the base has the typical Whitefriars polished out pontil.
This particular design of Whitefriars paperweight first made its appearance in 1949 and was made in a variety of colours. This style of paperweight can be found on Page 17 of the 1949 Whitefriars catalogue with the pattern number 9308.
The paperweight has a height of approximately 6.8cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
