Vintage Spong & Co. Ltd Mountable Manual Bean Slicer with Original Guarantee

This is a nice example of a piece of vintage kitchenalia by Spong & Co. Ltd. The piece has been made from cast iron and has a rounded upper portion that can be rotated via the handle to slice the beans. The blades are on a disc on the back. The rounded portion sits on a stand that has holes for attachment to a flat surface. One side of the piece is moulded with the words ‘SPONG & CO. LTD MADE IN ENGLAND BEAN SLICER NO. 102’. In addition, the piece comes with the original blue paper guarantee, although this has come apart where it had been folded in half for so long. It has a maximum height of approximately 14.8cm and a width across the base of about 9.2cm. It is in good condition for its age, although the turning mechanism is a little stiff and there are some traces of grey paint around the base from the surface it was once attached to.
