Vintage 1930s Moulded Glass Cake Stand with Fluted Rim
For a full product description, see below.
This is a good quality moulded glass cake stand, maker unknown but probably dating to the 1930s.
This piece has been made in a two-part mould. The base is hollow and has a fluted pattern and is attached to the top by a solid plain collar. The central part of the top is plain. The outer portion has a design consisting of radiating ‘grooves’ to the underside, which give the top a fluted appearance. The rim is inverted with a wavy edge.
It has a maximum height of approximately 9.2cm, with a maximum diameter across the rim of about 20.5cm and across the base of about 10.1cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are a few enclosed bubbles and pieces of frit in the glass which are manufacturing artefacts.
