This is a very stylish piece of Whitefriars dating to the 1930s.
This lead glass vase is moulded with six vertical panels, each of which has a curved upper margin. This give the rim a scalloped effect. The thickened discoid base has a central polished out pontil. Looking at the pattern books, I believe that this was a design made between 1931 and 1934 for the London firm of the Belgian importers J. Wuidart and Co. It is similar to pattern number W 68.
The vase has a height of approximately 26.8cm, with a diameter at the rim of 19.5cm and at the foot of 10.0cm.
It is in good condition, considering its age. There are, however, a few wear and tear scratches to the outer surface.
