Triple Moulded Flint Glass Cake Stand
This is a nice example of a glass cake stand, probably dating to the early part of the 20th century.
This is a nice example of a glass cake stand, probably dating to the early part of the 20th century.
The piece has been made in a three-part mould. The upper plate-shaped portion has an everted scalloped rim. There is a design on the underside that is in the form of raised stylised ‘feathers’. The stem is moulded with vertical ribs, which extend downwards onto the foot. The latter is domed and moulded on the inside with a series of radiating wedge ‘cuts’.
It has a height of to the plate of approximately 11.0cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 24.0cm and across the base of about 10.5cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
