This is a highly attractive handmade flour dredger by Toni Raymond Pottery.

The dredger flares out as it approaches the base. Just above the upper attachment of the handle the body is moulded with a ring, which is flanked by two bands of pale orange glaze. The top is moulded in a discoid shape with a central ‘nipple’. Around this is a ring of eight holes for the flour to pass through.

The body of the dredger is hand painted with the word ‘FLOUR’, below which is a sprig of stylised blue flowers. On the reverse is another sprig of blue flowers and their foliage.

The base of the dredger has a central plastic bung. It is marked by hand in black underglaze with what appears to be the letter ‘S’.

It has a maximum height of approximately 13.6cm and a diameter at the base of about 9.5cm.

It is in good condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is some fine crazing to the glaze.
