‘The War Illustrated’ G.P.O. Weekly Newspaper No. 35 (May 3rd 1940)

This is a copy of ‘The War Illustrated’, a weekly newspaper providing people with a record of events and photographs of the Second World War. This is issue number 35 and is dated May 3rd 1940. It is printed as ‘Volume 2’; according to the newspaper, ‘The War Illustrated’ was first issued at the beginning of the First World War (1914). It has a height of approximately 29.2cm and a width of about 22.0cm. It is in fair condition for its age, although there is some foxing to the pages and small marks around the staples. The edges of the pages are also a little worn. This is to be expected from a periodical of this age.
