This is a well-executed and highly attractive art pottery tea bowl, maker unknown.
The bowl has a slightly everted rim and tapers in to form the rounded body. This sits on s short cylindrical foot. The whole is glazed in a streaky brown and black glaze, except for the lower half of the foot. This is unglazed, revealing the underlying ceramic to be beige in colour. It is impressed in the centre with the artist’s monogram, which looks like either ‘HP’ or ‘PH’.
It has a height of approximately 4.6cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 9.4cm and across the base of about 3.7cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
