Stuart Crystal ‘Carlingford’ Design Whisky Decanter

This is a beautiful example of a high quality cut lead crystal decanter by Stuart Crystal. The rounded body has a thickened, star cut base and is cut in its lower half with a design consisting of a series of large criss-crosses, the upper and lower arms of which come into close approximation. Within the upper arms of each cross is a vertical leaf-shaped wedge cut. There is a slight taper towards the neck. The latter is cut with a series of panel cuts with curved lower margins. The rim is flattened. The stopper is of mushroom form, with a plain neck and a star cut top. The decanter has a height including the stopper of approximately 23.4cm, and excluding the stopper of about 18.3cm. The base has a diameter of about 10.0cm. It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
