Sowerby ‘Lea’ Design Carnival Glass Sugar Bowl in Marigold

This is a classic example of a sugar bowl in the ‘Lea’ pattern by Sowerby.
The bowl has a scalloped rim and the body is formed from six curved panels. Each panel is moulded with a central textured portion, bordered above and below by a horizontal stripe of vertical lines. The piece sits on three small ribbed feet and has a star moulded base. The interior of the base is textured and has a moulded pattern of four stylised leaves.
It has a maximum height of approximately 9.2cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 13.4cm and across the base of about 8.0cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although it is roughly finished around the base.
