This is a nice example of a mid-20th century art glass duck by Whitefriars.
The duck is made from thick flint lead glass with an enclosed controlled bubble pattern in the body, extending up through the neck and in to the head. The beak and base have been separately applied from flint lead crystal. The latter is oval in shape and polished flat. There is a rough portion at the base of the tail above the base where the glass was broken off during production.
This piece can be seen on page 25 of the 1966 Whitefriars catalogue. This duck is the smallest of the range, listed as 5 ½ inches.
It has a height of approximately 14.4cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
