Small Vintage West German Jasba Ceramic Jug 206 / 20 in Brown
For a full product description, see below.
This is a lovely example of a vintage West German ceramic jug or vase by Jasba and dating to the mid-20th century.
The vase is elegantly shaped, the lower part of the body being approximately conical, and then flaring out to an angular rim. The shape of the handle is almost triangular, giving this piece a geometric feel.
The base glaze is chocolate brown, with areas of mottling. This is intersected by stripes of pastel shades and vibrant orange. The rim and the handle are gilded.
The base has an unglazed foot rim, revealing the underlying ceramic body to be off-white in colour. The centre is glazed in chocolate brown, and has the word ‘GERMANY’ and the number ‘206/20’ moulded in relief.
It has a maximum height of approximately 20.0cm, and a diameter across the base of about 8.0cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
