This is an attractive example of a decorative glass posy bowl by the Franz Welz company of Czechoslovakia and dating to the latter part of the 19th century.
The bowl is rounded with a thickened discoid base. It is made in three layers – an inner white glass layer over which is a multicoloured marbled layer with a pattern of small enclosed bubbles. The whole is encased in a layer of flint glass.
It has a height of approximately 5.0cm, with a diameter at the rim of about 8.2cm and across the base of about 6.0cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
