This is an excellent example of a 1950s Czechoslovakian flower vase.
This particular piece was designed by Václav Hanuš for the Rudolfova Hut Factory and went into production in 1957. It has the pattern number 12992.
The vase has a wide undulating rim, which is sometimes known as ‘fish mouthed’. The body of the vase tapers in toward the round base. The vase is decorated with a moulded ribbed pattern in the upper half. Below this there is a pattern of ‘leaf’ shapes, which are alternately raised and depressed around the vase. There are three rows of these in total, which are staggered with respect to each other, and diminish in size as they approach the base. The base has a raised foot rim, which is unpolished.
The vase has a maximum height of approximately 25.0cm, with a diameter at the rim of about 11.0cm and at the base of about 7.5cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
