Set of Three Lauscha East German Wine Glasses in Original Box
This is a ‘harlequin’ set of three delicate wine glasses, originating from the German Democratic Republic and probably attributable to Lauscha Glass.
This is a ‘harlequin’ set of three delicate wine glasses, originating from the German Democratic Republic and probably attributable to Lauscha Glass.
Each glass has a galleried rim and a rounded body. The body tapers in and merges imperceptibly with the thin drawn stem. This widens out again and merges with the plain foot. The latter is hollow underneath and leading part of the way up in to the stem.
The three glasses are in the following colours: amethyst, amber and blue.
Each glass bears the original silver paper label which reads ‘HANDMADE MADE IN GDR’.
The glasses come in their original black and gold box, which has a white satin lining. The box is quite worn in places and the satin has a couple of faint marks.
Each glass has a height of approximately 20.0cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 5.1cm and across the foot of about 5.8cm.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks. As previously mentioned, the box is quite worn which is commensurate with age.
