Set of Four Dartington Glass ‘Dartington’ Design Champagne Glasses FT55/5 in Midnight Grey
For a full product description, see below.
This is an unusual set of four champagne glasses from the ‘Dartington’ suite designed in 1968 by Frank Thrower for Dartington Glass.
Each glass has a cylindrical bowl, which has a thickened base that merges with the short, tapering stem. The foot is plain and unmarked.
They are made from ‘midnight grey’ glass.
These glasses are very versatile, being described in the original catalogue as being suitable for ‘champagne, grapefruit or shrimp cocktail.’
Each glass has a height of approximately 9.8cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 10.1cm and across the foot of about 8.0cm. There are minor discrepancies in the dimensions due to their handmade nature.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 325ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of 900g.
They are in good condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are some fine wear and tear scratches to the interior of the bowls from use.
