Royal Doulton Booth’s ‘Real Old Willow’ Design Cup and Saucer Set (Brown)

This is a nice modern example of a classic design originally produced by Booth’s and continued by Royal Doulton towards the end of the 20th century. The cup has an approximately cylindrical body, tapering and then ‘stepping’ in towards the base. The handle is angular and sits on the upper half of the body. The saucer has a scalloped and slightly everted rim. The whole is transfer printed with the classic ‘Real Old Willow’ design in blue and white. This is the ‘Brown’ variation of the pattern, with a stripe of pattern on the interior printed in brown. The base of each piece is printed with the Royal Doulton crown and lion logo and the words ‘MADE IN ENGLAND ROYAL DOULTON ENGLAND FINE CHINA BOOTHS ‘REAL OLD WILLOW’ T.C. 1126 ROYAL DOULTON TABLEWARE LTD. 1991’. The cup has a height of approximately 6.3cm, with a diameter at the rim of about 8.5cm and across the base of about 4.5cm. The saucer has a diameter of about 14.7cm. They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
