Royal Brierley ‘Stratford’ Design Small Lead Crystal Brandy Glass
For a full product description, see below.
This is a nice example of a high-quality, cut lead crystal brandy glass from the ‘Stratford’ suite produced by Royal Brierley.
The small balloon-shaped bowl is cut below the rim with a lattice formed from four rows of interlocking criss-crosses. This band surmounts a broad, circumferential wedge cut. Below this is a band of large, deep vertical leaf-shaped wedge cuts that slightly overlap one another.
The bowl sits on a short, waisted stem; this is cut with six facets that render it hexagonal in cross-section. The foot is broad, and star cut in the centre. It is marked at the edge with the word ‘BRIERLEY’.
It has a height of approximately 11.0cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 5.1cm and across the foot of about 6.1cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
