Retro Swedish Lead Crystal Doughnut or Hole Wine Carafe possibly Skruf Glasbruk
For a full product description, see below.
This is a highly attractive lead crystal wine carafe, probably Swedish and possibly attributable to Skruf Glasbruk.
The carafe is of flattened form, with a rounded body and thickened base. The latter is flat and has a central polished pontil. The body is depressed in the centre to create an oval depression. This looks like a hole but contains glass. The body tapers in towards the neck and then flares out again at the rim. The latter is pulled out slightly on one side to create a pouring spout.
It is unmarked.
It has a height of approximately 23.5cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 7.3cm and a width across the base of about 6.5cm.
It is in good condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are some wear and tear scratches on the body and base commensurate with age.
