This is a nice example of a handmade art glass vase, probably Scandinavian in origin and dating to the 1970s.
The flattened vase is formed from aubergine or amethyst coloured glass encased in a layer of flint. The glass is pulled upwards and outwards and forms two lobes that resemble the jaws of a fish. The flint glass base is thickened and is polished flat.
It has a height of approximately 32.4cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are a few wear and tear scratches to the body and the base.
