This is a charming example of an unusual handled serving platter from the ‘Gold Calypto’ range produced by Chance Glass.

The platter is rounded with a gilded, fluted rim. The body is screen printed with a stylised eucalyptus print known as ‘Calypto’. This is the more unusual gold variant of the pattern, which was introduced after 1970.

There is a spindle made from gold-coloured metal which is inserted through the centre of the dish and is surmounted by a stepped handle.

It has a maximum height of approximately 14.0cm, with a diameter across the plate of about 20.5cm.

It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
