Retro 1980s Cotton Post Office Coin Bag ‘£250 50p PIECES’ in Yellow
For a full product description, see below.
This is a highly unusual example of a retro post office coin bag, dating to the mid-1980s.
The coin bag is made from thick woven cotton in yellow and is printed in black on one side with 'POST OFFICE £250 50p PIECES’.
These bags originally belonged to a Somerset post office, which closed in the mid-1980s. These bags were acquired not long before branch closure, which meant that this new stock was stored for around 30 years without ever going into circulation.
The bag measures approximately 39.5cm long by 24.5cm.
It is in excellent condition, having never been used.
Please note: these bags have been crudely mass-produced, and therefore both the weave quality and the printing quality vary from piece to piece.
