Whitefriars Glass Swan Figure in Arctic Blue c.1960s (8 ½” High)

This is a high-quality swan figure produced by Whitefriars Glass and dating to the mid-20th century.

The swan has been handmade from ‘Arctic Blue’ coloured glass. The base is polished flat.

This piece can be seen on page 18 of the 1964 Whitefriars catalogue, which also documents the colour ‘Arctic Blue’.

It has a height of approximately 21.2cm.

The catalogue states that there are three sizes: 6, 8, and 10 inches high. However, it does mention that this can vary. This swan is slightly over the 8-inch mark, which is the medium size.

It has an unwrapped weight of 420g.

It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are numerous scratches to the base commensurate with age.
