This is a classic retro example of an ice bucket in the shape of an apple, produced by Induga and originating from Western Germany.
The ice bucket is in the novel shape of an apple. The exterior is covered in a dark green vinyl with a leather-like appearance. The lid is concave at the apex, and there is an angular brass-coloured ‘stem’ which forms the knop.
The interiors of the lid and the body are made from white plastic. Due to the stepped interior of the base, it is possible that there was originally a disc that sat in the bottom to allow the water to pool away from the ice. This is sadly missing.
The underside of the base is made from black plastic and bears the original black and silver sticker, which reads ‘ORIGINAL INDUGA MODEL MADE IN W-GERMANY’.
It has a maximum height of approximately 19.5, with a diameter across the rim of about 19.5cm and across the base of about 10.0cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 400g.
It is in very good condition, with some minor tarnishing to the metal knop. There are also a few faint yellow marks on the white plastic interior, which are commensurate with use. The green vinyl is in excellent condition, with just a few minor scuffs.
