This is a handsome example of a contemporary glass vase in classic 1970s style made by Villeroy & Boch.
The vase has a flattened, discoid rim which has a thick layer of amber glass applied to it. The elongated neck is of cylindrical form, widening out to form a shoulder above the short, cylindrical base. The latter is thickened and has a central polished pontil on the underside.
The vase bears the original plastic label which reads ‘VILLEROY & BOCH 1748’.
It has a height of approximately 29.3cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 8.6cm and across the base of about 10.1cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 670g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is the odd wear and tear scratch to the body and base commensurate with use.
