Set of Six Stuart Crystal ‘Lyric’ Design Lead Crystal Sherry Glasses No. 29244

This is a set of six high-quality cut lead crystal sherry glasses from the ‘Lyric’ suite by Stuart Crystal.

The bowl is cut with ten elongated angular wedge cuts, which alternate with ten smaller, leaf-shaped wedge cuts. The base of the bowl is decorated with two circumferential mitre cuts.

The bowl merges imperceptibly with the twisted, ribbed stem. The foot is plain and marked in the centre with the words ‘STUART ENGLAND’.

According to the 1954 Stuart Crystal catalogue, the ‘Lyric’ suite has the pattern number 29244. 

Each glass has a height of approximately 13.4cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 5.9cm and across the foot of about 5.7cm.

Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 85ml.

They have an unwrapped weight of 650g.

They are in good condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are some visible wear and tear scratches to the bowls and feet commensurate with use.
