This is a highly attractive and unusual set of six sherry glasses from the ‘Chelsea’ suite imported by John Jenkins.
The bowl is elongated with a thickened base and everted rim. There is a broad discoid collar at the junction of the bowl and the complex stem. This is formed from two capstans divided by a flattened globular knop. The foot is plain and unmarked.
The tallest glass measures 13.1cm, whilst the shortest is 12.8cm. The diameter across the bowl is 5.7cm and across the foot is about 6.2cm. This varies from glass to glass; the differences in dimensions and confirmation are due to the handmade nature of the glasses.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of about 100ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of 800g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
