This is a set of six high-quality lead crystal whisky tumblers from the ‘Jura’ suite produced by Edinburgh Crystal.
The bowl is cylindrical with a thickened base. It is cut around the centre with a band of seven large crosses, the upper and lower limbs of which meet to form a diamond-shaped panel. Within the panel is a large cross-cut with elongated lower limbs that bisect the lower limbs of the larger cross, forming a small diamond-shaped panel below the centre of the large cross. This cross-cut is overcut with a vertical line. There is a large five-limbed fan above the centre of each of the seven large crosses.
The base is marked on the edge with the words ‘EDINBURGH CRYSTAL’, although these are harder to discern on some tumblers.
In addition, the glasses come in their original purple cardboard box which is satin-lined. The exterior of the box has some wear to the top and some marks on the underside.
Each glass has a height of approximately 7.9cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 7.3cm and across the base of about 6.5cm.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 190ml.
They have an unwrapped weight (including the box) of 1880g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although as previously mentioned the box is quite worn in places.
