This is a set of four high-quality napkin rings from the ‘Elegance Collection’ produced by Royal Doulton Crystal and probably dating to the late 1980s.
Each napkin ring is made from lead crystal and cut around the exterior with six large crosses. Above and below the centre of each cross is a three-pointed fan cut. Between adjacent crosses is a lattice formed from two pairs of parallel lines.
Three of the four napkin rings retain their original blue and white paper label, which reads ‘ROYAL DOULTON CRYSTAL’.
The napkin rings come in their original blue satin-lined presentation box. The box has a white marbled exterior and reads ‘ROYAL DOULTON CRYSTAL HAND MADE IN ENGLAND’.
According to the Royal Doulton Crystal 1988 catalogue, these napkin rings have the product number 8757.
Each napkin ring measures 3.4cm high and 5.0cm across the diameter.
They have an unwrapped weight (including their box) of 320g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although the box has some scuffs to the edges and some faint red marks on the reverse (see pictures).
