This is a set of four superb quality cut lead crystal pan or coupe champagne glasses, probably dating to the turn of the 20th century.
The pan-shaped bowl is cut below the rim with a band of vertical wedge or needle cuts. Below this, the bowl is cut with a lattice of raised diamonds that diminish in size as they approach the base. The latter is cut with six petals, that extend down onto the stem as facets. The edge of each petal is notched. The stem merges with the broad, star-cut foot. The latter is unmarked.
Each glass has a height of approximately 11.5cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 8.6cm and across the foot of about 7.2cm.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 175ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of 530g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is the odd enclosed bubble within the glass under the cutting. This is a manufacturing artefact and does not detract from the glasses in any way.
