This is a set of four cut and moulded lead crystal small wine glasses by Edinburgh Crystal International.
The capacious rounded bowl is cut with a lattice formed from three rows of eight interlocking crosses, which diminish in size as they approach the base of the bowl. Where adjacent crosses meet on the uppermost row, they are surmounted by alternating eight-pointed stars and vertical wedge cuts.
The bowl has a thickened base that merges imperceptibly with the stem; this has a central bladed knop. The foot is star-cut in the centre and unmarked.
Each glass bears the original silver and black foil label, which reads ‘EDINBURGH INTERNATIONAL HAND CUT HUNGARY’ surrounding a lion rampant motif.
In addition, the glasses are in their original blue satin-lined box.
Each glass has a height of approximately 12.0cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 5.0cm and across the foot of about 6.3cm.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 120ml.
They have an unwrapped weight (including their box) of 920g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is minor wear to the edge of the box and some faint marks to the satin lining which are age-related.
