This is a nice example of a teapot from the ‘Creation’ range by Midwinter.
The upper part of the body is in the form of a short cylinder, leading to a ‘shoulder’, sloping at approximately forty-five degrees. Below the shoulder, the lower part of the body is also cylindrical. The spout is approximately conical in shape and situated on the shoulder. The lid is formed from a short cylindrical portion, which sits within the rim of the coffee pot, and an upper domed portion, which is visible.
The glaze is stone coloured, speckled with grey and brown. The lower part of the lid, the shoulder and the base are stippled in brown glaze.
It is impressed on the base with the words ‘MIDWINTER MADE IN ENGLAND’.
It has a height of approximately 17.5cm with a diameter across the base of about 13.7cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 890g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there may be a few areas devoid of glaze, where the brown has been applied. There is also a streak of grey, which is under the glaze on the top of the lid. These are manufacturing artefacts.
