This is a pair of high-quality cut lead crystal pan champagne glasses from the ‘Georgian’ suite produced by Webb Corbett Crystal.
The saucer-shaped bowl tapers in as it approaches the thickened base. It is cut with a band of eleven large crosses. Each cross is surmounted by a three-pointed fan cut, and the diamond-shaped panels formed between adjacent crosses contain a smaller cross-cut. Above the base is a ring of eleven concave oval cuts.
The bowl sits on a short stem with a central flattened ball knop. This merges with the plain, flat foot that is unmarked.
Each glass has a height of approximately 9.7cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 9.0cm and across the foot of about 5.5cm.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 175ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of 370g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are some enclosed bubbles and pieces of frit within the glass. These are manufacturing artefacts.
