Pair of Hoya Corporation ‘Cordial Glass Collection’ Lidded Glass Boxes in Original Box

This is a pair of stylish versatile lidded glass containers from the ‘Cordial Glass Collection’ produced by the Hoya Corporation of Japan.

The boxes are square in section with rounded corners. The underside of the base is moulded with fine lines giving a textured finish. The lids have a ridge on the undersurface to allow close fitting.

Each box bears the original label, which reads ‘HOYA CORPORATION MADE IN JAPAN 401’.

The Hoya Corporation expanded into Europe in the 1980s and had trade links with Cristallerie Zwiesel (Schott Zwiesel). Each company exported (and in some cases produced) the other company’s designs. Many Hoya Corporation designs were produced by Cristallerie Zwiesel during this period.

In addition, the boxes come with their original cardboard box, which is slightly worn around the edges.

Each container has a maximum height (including the lid) of approximately 5.7cm and a height (without the lid) of 4.4cm. They are 9.7cm square.

They have an unwrapped weight (including the box) of 910g.

They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
