This is a classic pair of lead crystal gin or small wine glasses dating to around 1820.
The trumpet-shaped bowl is cut in the lower two-thirds with ten panels. The base of the bowl is thickened and sits on a broad discoid collar and a further smaller collar. Below this, the stem is of double-capstan form. The foot is plain, slightly domed, and has a central polished pontil.
Each glass has a height of approximately 12.3cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 6.4cm and across the foot of about 5.7cm. There are some discrepancies in the dimensions due to the handmade nature of the glasses.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 70ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of 230g.
They are in good condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are some wear and tear scratches and enclosed bubbles commensurate with age and use. As can be seen from the pictures, one of the glasses has a slight lean, which is a manufacturing flaw.
