This is a pair of high-quality lead crystal flute champagne glasses from the ‘Inga’ suite, designed by Frank Thrower for Dartington Crystal.
The elongated bowl is tulip-shaped, tapering in again to merge with the solid cylindrical stem. There is a globular collar at the junction of the stem and the plain, flat foot. The latter is plain and unmarked.
These glasses were described in an early catalogue as ‘Tall Champagne or Gin and Tonic’ glasses.
Each glass has a height of approximately 16.4cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 4.8cm and across the foot of about 6.0cm.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 165ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of 220g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
