This is a good example of a late-19th-century lead crystal whisky tumbler, probably dating to around 1870.
The tumbler is made from lead crystal and is approximately cylindrical in shape, tapering in towards the thickened base. The bowl is hand engraved below the rim with a stylised fruiting vine motif. The base is slightly domed in the centre with a large broken pontil mark.
The tumbler has a height of approximately 9.0cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 8.4cm and across the base of 6.4cm.
It has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 300ml.
It has an unwrapped weight of 270g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are some enclosed bubbles and pieces of frit within the glass which are manufacturing artefacts.
