This is a classic example of a handmade glass ‘dump’ paperweight dating to the end of the Victorian era.
The paperweight is made from green glass and is of elongated domed form. Enclosed within the paperweight is a complex flowerpot motif with a large central flower, and three smaller flowers below. The centre of each flower contains an enclosed air bubble.
The base of the paperweight has a central rough pontil and is unmarked.
It has a height of approximately 9.5cm and across the base of about 5.0cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 720g.
It is in good condition for its age, with a few scratches and very minor knocks to the body. The base has numerous wear and tear scratches to the edge, commensurate with age and use.
