This is a fine example of a ceramic frog bearing the City of Bath coat of arms, maker unknown but probably dating to the turn of the 19th to 20th century.
The frog is in a seated position, with its back legs wrapped around its stomach. The wide mouth is gilded along the rim, and the detail of the eyes is also highlighted in the same way. The back of the frog is transfer-printed with the City of Bath coat of arms.
The base is plain and unmarked.
It has a maximum height of approximately 7.9cm and a maximum width across the front of the base of about 7.8cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 70g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is some minor wear to the gilding in places.
