This is a high-quality lead crystal claret wine glass from the popular ‘Victoria’ suite, designed by Frank Thrower for Dartington Crystal.
The bowl is straight-sided and cylindrical. There is a flattened, discoid collar at the junction of the bowl and stem. The stem is wide and straight. It swells out slightly to form a small collar where it meets the broad, flat foot. The latter is plain and unmarked.
It has a height of approximately 13.6cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 6.6cm and across the foot of about the same.
It has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 200ml.
It has an unwrapped weight of 200g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is the odd enclosed bubble or piece of frit within the glass. There are also some wear and tear scratches to the bowls and feet commensurate with use.
