This is a nice example of a glass fruit bowl, maker unknown, but probably dating to the 1930s.
The bowl is made from thick pale blue glass with a ‘hooped’ or ringed design. Five circumferential hoops alternate with five flat portions, which can be felt inside and outside the bowl.
The bowl sits on a thickened, discoid base, which has a central polished pontil and is unmarked.
It has a height of approximately 13.1cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 19.0cm and across the base of about 9.0cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 1680g.
It is in good condition, with no chips or crack, although there are some scratches to the exterior of the bowl, in particular to the base, which are commensurate with use.
