This is a stylish retro coffee pot from the ‘Contour’ range, designed by Robert Jefferson for Poole Pottery in 1963.
The waisted coffee pot has a long curved pouring spout and an angular handle. The body is in ‘Sepia’ and the lid is in ‘Mushroom’. This ‘Twintone’ colour combination was one of only four used for the Contour range. It has the pattern number C54.
It is marked underneath with an oval containing a stylised dolphin and the words ‘POOLE ENGLAND EST. 1873’. This mark was in use from 1967 to 1972.
It has a maximum height (including the lid) of approximately 21.0cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
