Pair of Webb Corbett ‘Prince Charles’ Design Lead Crystal Brandy Glasses (SECONDS)
For a full product description, see below.
This is a pair of good quality cut lead crystal brandy glasses from the ‘Prince Charles’ suite by Webb Corbett.
The balloon shaped bowl is cut around the centre with a ring of nine large criss-crosses with elongated lower limbs that cross over the lower limbs of adjacent crosses. Above this point is a vertical wedge cut. Above the centre of each large cross is a three-pointed fan. The stem is short and tapering, merging imperceptibly with the star cut foot. The latter is unmarked.
Each glass has a height of approximately 11.6cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 5.4cm and across the foot of about 6.1cm. There may be minor discrepancies in the dimensions due to the handmade nature of the glasses.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there may be a few striations in the bowl and foot from the manufacturing process. There are also some inclusions in the base of the bowl which are bubbles and pieces of frit. I believe that these glasses may have been 'seconds', and have been priced accordingly.
