Pair of Webb Corbett ‘Marston’ Design Wine Glasses c.1961
For a full product description, see below.
This is a pair of high-quality cut lead crystal wine glasses from the ‘Marston’ suite by Webb Corbett and dating to the early 1960s.
The rounded bowl is cut with a lattice formed from three rows of interlocking criss-crosses. Each cross in the uppermost row is surmounted by a vertical wedge cut. The diamonds formed in the central row are overcut with two pairs of parallel lines. There is a small discoid collar at the junction of the bowl and the short stem; the latter has a central ball knop.
The foot is plain and marked in the centre with the words ‘WEBB CORBETT ENGLAND’ encircling the date ‘1961’.
Each glass has a height of approximately 10.3cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 6.3cm and across the foot of about 5.1cm. There may be minor discrepancies in the dimensions due to the handmade nature of the glasses.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
